About This Place

Nestled right on the scenic waterfront of Longboat Key, Dry Dock Waterfront Grill offers a sublime seafood dining experience that perfectly blends fresh flavors with breathtaking views. This seafood restaurant stands out not just for its location at 412 Gulf of Mexico Dr, but for its masterful execution of coastal cuisine that keeps locals and visitors coming back time and again.

From the moment you step inside, the inviting atmosphere strikes a remarkable balance between upscale elegance and relaxed comfort. Whether you choose the open-air deck seating, the cozy upstairs dining area, or the breezy first floor with panoramic views of Sarasota Bay, you’ll be treated to an immersive sensory experience. The gentle sea breeze, the sound of water lapping nearby, and the radiant sunset complement every bite so magically that dining here feels like a mini getaway in itself.

At Dry Dock Waterfront Grill, the menu is a treasure trove of seafood delights, crafted with both bold flavors and delicate finesse. Signature dishes like the Lobster Roll Combo burst with succulent lobster meat nestled in a perfectly toasted bun, while the creamy, citrusy Key Lime Pie offers a refreshing finale to your meal. The Lobster Bites—fried Maine lobster tails paired with a luscious pina colada sauce—deliver a delightful crunch followed by rich, buttery sweetness that dances on your palate.

Appetizer selections such as the crispy Florida Gulf Grouper Bites served with a sweet chili sauce and the savory Oysters Rockefeller tempt you with layers of texture and flavor. For heartier tastes, entrees like the Seafood Linguine and the exquisitely prepared Chilean Sea Bass highlight the freshest catches, cooked to perfection and paired with vibrant sides. The Shrimp Tacos offer a zesty twist, while the classic Fish N Chips Plate provides the satisfying crunch and hearty flavor you crave in traditional seafood fare.

Service at Dry Dock Waterfront Grill consistently earns high praise, and it’s easy to see why. Servers like Sylvia, Dani, Carly, and others bring genuine warmth and attentiveness to the table, combining knowledgeable recommendations with a patient, friendly approach that enhances the overall experience. Diners repeatedly mention how welcomed and relaxed they feel, no matter if it’s their first visit or their fifth.

Families are also well catered to, as the kid’s menu features favorites like Kid Burger Sliders, Kid Chicken Tenders, and scrumptious fried shrimp, thoughtfully portioned and prepared to delight younger palates without compromising on taste.

Real customer experiences speak volumes about what you can expect. Linda Timblin raved about the “exceptional food and service” complemented by the “amazing” waterfront views, while Jeff Freeman shared how Dry Dock became the rare vacation spot he dined at twice because of the “superb” meal and unbeatable ambiance. Sarah Lilly’s enthusiasm for the “delish” blackened grouper and bacon-wrapped scallops paired with a perfect sunset captures the essence of dining here—comfort, flavor, and a soulful connection to the water.

Whether you’re savoring a sumptuous lobster bisque, indulging in oysters served both raw and Rockefeller-style, or sipping on a refreshing Lady Shark cocktail, Dry Dock Waterfront Grill offers a dining experience that nourishes both body and spirit. It’s a culinary gem on Longboat Key where every visit feels like a celebration of the sea’s bounty paired with warm, genuine hospitality.

Exceptional food and service! AND the view of the water was amazing! Our server Sylvia was amazing and so knowledgeable and patient as it was our 1st time there but definitely not our last! Red snapper was so delish as we're the crab cakes and crab claws! Upscale restaurant but doesn't make you feel out of place!! Loved it

My first time here, it was excellent! Haddock fish and chips was crispy, thick and not greasy! Dani waited on me, sweet girl. Great food, atmosphere and service. Place for boats to dock! Beautiful view upstairs or outside on first floor. Give it a try!

On vacation we rarely eat at the same place twice but we did here! Went early for dinner around 4 to 5pm. Did have to wait a few minutes but we'll worth it. They have deck seating and 2 and 3 floor seating, all with great views of the bay. Our first visit, our waitress was exceptional! Our meal superb! Had grouper, veggies and real mashed potatoes. This was the best meal of the week!!! My second was sea bass, red potatoes and asparagus. Other plates were delighful chicken. Veggies so tender. Highly recommend FYI watch out for Barney Fife with the Longboat Police dept. They work Gulf Blvd with their radar guns!

The food at Dry Dock Waterfront Grill was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The views overlooking Sarasota Bay were stunning and made the whole experience worth the visit. Carly, our waitress, was top-notch. She had fantastic people skills, made us feel genuinely welcome, and took great care of us throughout the meal. You can tell she loves what she does. Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. Highly recommend!

o m g. Delish! Amazing vibe, delicious food, and phenomenal service. The entrees are very generous portions with a delicious salad. I got the blackened grouper and my partner got the bacon wrapped scallops and coconut shrimp. I did not have a bad bite of food all night. We had an amazing sunset to complement dinner time too! They had a ton of fans running outside to keep the air moving to prevent overheating. Our server was even kind enough to take a cute picture of me and my boo at sunset :) worth the splurge!

Im not much of a seafood person but this place was phenomenal. I had a few locals tell me how good this place is and it did not disappoint. Their coconut shrimp and their category 5 shrimp were phenomenal. And the lobster rolls had you craving for some more. Highly recommend!

Great food! Great service. When my husband said he was taking me to lunch, I was thinking we were going to another restaurant. I was quite glad when he pulled up to Dry Dock Waterfront Grill as I knew I didn't have to worry about what I would order. Of course, I ordered the best thing on the menu: the seafood pasta with garlic and wine sauce (I forgot to order it with extra garlic though!! ). My husband ordered the Tuscan cream sauce pasta with blackened grouper. He said it was delicious. I wouldn't know since I was gobbling down my own deliciousness so quickly! We gave the virgin strawberry daiquiris. They were ok, a little icy and lacked the sweetness of some others. The outdoor patio was breezy and nice. They really try to make it comfortable for the guests and it shows. DDWG is a bit pricey, and it doesn't look like they have a lunch menu (unless I missed it??), so if you are budget conscious, you'll have to choose your menu items carefully. Whatever you choose, especially if it's one of their pastas, you'll be glad you did! Happy eating!

Grouper bites were good. Tasted fresh. Wasn’t a fan of the Asian chili sauce though. Places I have gotten it from before didn’t taste like a creamy dressing. Comes with 5 pieces ( at least what I ordered did not sure if it’s based on weight or it’s just a set amount ) not impressed with their drink menu options.
